Surprise Screening

Andrew Lancaster's debut feature film Accident's Happen is set in 1980s Connecticut and is a wickedly funny and moving story about family, fate and misfortune in suburbia. Lancaster infuses a magical atmosphere into his film with a vivid visual style and striking production design. Starring Academy Award winner Geena Davis, the film was funded and shot in Australian and features some incredible Australian talent in front of, as well as behind the camera. Acclaimed Producer Anthony Anderson (Somersault) oversaw the film's involvement in the prestigious AURORA script development program. The brilliant young Australian actor Harrison Gilbertson (currently on screens in Beneath Hill 60, also playing at Dungog) was awarded the central role of Billy Conway in this film about a boy who has inexplicably been witness to a series of terrible accidents. When one claims the life of his sister and leaves his brother severely brain damaged, the responsibility of holding the family together falls on Billy's shoulders. This is a Surprise Screening - a late addition to the program that is sure to challenge and delight audiences in Dungog.
