Duration: 90 mins
Andy Muir has worked as a researcher and script coordinator for television shows such as Underbelly, MDA and All Saints. He also has writing credits on Home and Away, Neighbours and Silver Sun. Andy has written material for Thank God You’re Here. In 2007, he travelled to Los Angeles where he spent time in the writers’ room of the hit show 24, an experience he benefited from immensely.
Last year he was one of the winners of the John Jameson Short Script Competition for the script Viva Las Possum, shot on Sydney’s northern beaches. It tells the story of the mayhem caused when Elvis is discovered in a suburban attic. The film has since screened at numerous local and international film festivals, and is featured at this year’s Dungog Film Festival.
Synopsis:
Revelling in the sleazy world of sex, gossip and scandal, Snap! is the story of paparazzi with big dreams. Getting the pictures is only half the battle. Wits and detective work, combined with a healthy dose of luck, mean you pay the bills. Cameras always at the ready, Sam Atwood seeks his quarry while his loyal partner Ollie French hustles to sell the shots to the ever-avaricious press. Meanwhile, young up-and-comer Kelly Easton is learning the ropes of how to be a pap, and discovering what it takes to live midst the dirt, the moral ambiguity, the rationalisations and the justifications. Paparazzi may be a dirty word for some, but for others, it’s a lifestyle.
