Speed Auditioning Terms


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AND TERMS

Please note: the following Eligibility Requirements and Terms must be met in order to proceed with the application process for Speed Auditioning. By entering the competition, entrants accept these terms and conditions.

TO QUALIFY

  1. You must be over the age of 15 years as at 1 May 2010.
  2. You must be an Australian citizen and live in Australia.
  3. You must not have earned more than $2,000 in total as an actor (including but not limited to appearances on television, film or on stage).
  4. You must not be presently represented by an acting agent or manager.
  5. Pay the entry fee.
  6. Only the first 1000 entries will be accepted.
  7. Employees, Officers, Directors and Agents of Dungog Film Festival Limited and/or any of their respective licensees, assigns, parents, affiliated and subsidiary companies and any of their immediate family (spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son) or members of their same household (whether related or not) of such employees, officers, directors and agents are not eligible to be entrants in the Competition.
  8. The Producers reserve the right to change any of the eligibility requirements and terms, including the terms of prizes awarded at any time prior to the commencement of the audition process.
  9. The winner of the Competition will receive $5,000.00 CASH and receive representation by Dungog Film Festival Limited under an exclusive agreement for a period of 18 months during which time Dungog Film Festival Limited will use best endeavours to secure suitable acting positions for the winner.
  10. During your participation in the Competition you may be filmed, recorded and photographed. You authorise the Producers to use your name and likeness in connection with any publicity associated for the Dungog Film Festival and related competitions and activities, and you agree to undertake publicity appearances for the Festival and related competitions and activities as reasonably requested by the Producers.
  11. The Producers will own all copyright and other intellectual property in the recorded performances.

THE AUDITION PROCESS

Each entrant will have to perform a 2 minute monologue of their choice. Each entrant will be recorded and there will be only 1 take to perform the monologue. You will be notified by email of the date and location of the first round of auditions.

SHORT LISTED ENTRANTS

After the Audition process, the panel of judges will short list a number of entrants. If you are short-listed you will participate at the final round of the competition (“Finals”) which will be held on 29 May 2010 in Dungog NSW. You will be notified by email if you have been short-listed for the Finals.

FINALS

Each finalist will be given a 2 minute script by the Producers to perform in the Finals. Each finalist will be recorded and there will be only 1 take. The panel of judges will choose a winner who will be awarded the prizes. The decision of the panel of judges will be final.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

  1. Complete the Application Form and the below Release and Waiver document, which must be signed by you. Applications will only be considered if they are complete. Completed applications will consist of the following:
  2. a. Completed Application Form; and
    b. Legible copies of AT LEAST ONE OF:
i. Australian Passport;
ii. Drivers Licence;
iii. Birth Certificate.
  1. Only one application per person allowed.
  2. All decisions of the Producers are final and absolute and are not subject to inquiry or appeal.

RELEASE AND WAIVER

  1. By signing the below I hereby acknowledge and agree that:
      a. I have read and I meet and agree to be bound by the above “Speed Auditioning Eligibility Requirements and Terms”;
      b. I have completed this application honestly and accurately and if any of the information is found to be false, misleading or incomplete, this will be grounds to be excluded from the Competition.
  2. I consent to the filming of me and recording of my voice at the Producer’s sole discretion during the audition and Finals process and irrevocably grant to the Producer’s all rights and consents or waive the same so as to permit the fullest use throughout the world of any and all of this filming and recording in perpetuity in all media now known or hereafter devised throughout the world.
  3. I hereby assign to the Producers all right, title and interest (including without limitation all copyright) in and to any material submitted by me in connection with the Competition (“Material”) and grant the Producer’s the right to use, edit and alter such Materials in all media now know or hereafter devised throughout the world in perpetuity.
  4. I consent to the recording, use and re-use by the Producers or each of their respective licensees, assignees, parents, subsidiaries or affiliated entities and each of the respective employees, officers, agents and directors (collectively “Releases”) of my voice, actions, likeness, name, appearance, biographical material and any information derived from my application (collectively “Likeness”).
  5. I recognise the needs of film and television production and distribution and hereby comprehensively consents to all the necessary rights (including moral rights) to enable the Producer’s (and its licensees, assignees, successors and any other person authorised by any of them) to make or enable alterations, modifications, copies or translations to of the materials created by me:
  6. a. in its absolute discretion; or
    b. if for any reason the consent in subclause (a) is unenforceable or void, for any reasonable purpose (having regard to production, distribution, dramatic, continuity, broadcasting and promotional requirements).
  7. I acknowledge and agree that the Releases may use any and all part of my Likeness and Materials in connection with the publicity, promotion, marketing or advertisement for the Competition or the Dungog Film Festival in any form or media throughout the world.
  8. I agree not to make any claim against the Releases as a result of the use of any part of my Likeness and Materials.
  9. I acknowledge that even if I meet all the eligibility requirements the Producers have no obligation to grant me an audition.
  10. I acknowledge that all decisions regarding the selection process of the entrants is final and not subject to challenge or appeal.
  11. I acknowledge the Producer’s reserve the right to:
  12. a. make changes to the application, audition and Finals process;
    b. change any of the eligibility requirements and terms, including terms of any prizes to be awarded at any time prior to the start of the Competition without notice;
    c. to render ineligible any person who the Producers determine, in their sole discretion, is sufficiently connected with the administration or judging of the Competition such that their participation in the Competition could create the appearance of impropriety;
    d. no proceed with the Competition;
    e. not award the prizes if the Competition is cancelled.
  13. This release and waiver shall be governed and construed in all respects by the laws of New South Wales and the parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of New South Wales courts.
  14. The Eligibility Requirements and Terms, including this Release and Waiver is the entire agreement between the Producer’s and me.
  15. I have read, understood and agree with the foregoing.
