On Friday the 28 of May, as part of our Education Program, the Dungog Film Festival is providing a diverse selection of workshops (with ADG and AFTRS) and screenings (documentaries, shorts, special presentation) especially for budding filmmakers. Our Student Program will run for a full day and students of any age can dip in and out of our various programs, as the mood strikes them.

NB: Some of our early sessions in the Oovie Theatre are restricted to under-18s (though an adult can accompany them) – ADG ‘How Do I Get Started?’, Doco A little Bit Mongolian and shorts program Kids Pix - but there are a wealth of other programs to enjoy. Look out for the words STUDENT PROGRAM FRIENDLY and don’t forget to buy your cheap Student Day Pass (only $30 for all sessions).

RURAL SCHOOLS PROGRAM

This year the Dungog Film Festival has teamed up with Jennifer’s Words on the rural school program.

Jane Caro, from ABC’s Gruen Transfer, and Jennifer’s Words 2010 Creative Director, is working with the students to make an advertisement that will screen on the closing night of the Dungog Film Festival.

The students, lead by teacher Louise Rowley, are also making a behind-the-scene documentary about this process that will screen on ABC3’s Behind The News.

Jennifer’s Words is funded by the Ryan family, inspiring students to love and use words creatively.
