Arriving from all corners of the country, filmmakers and Festival friends reunite or meet for the first time and embark upon the journey of the 2008 Dungog Film Festival. The evening will begin with a cocktail party at the James Theatre followed by the opening night ceremony and films. Guests will then be whisked away to the Miners’ Marquee for a luscious sit down dinner and fine Wyndham Estate wines. Individual tickets can be purchased. Included with Patron and Sponsor passes.

  
  ACTRESS
Friday 30 May 5pm – 6:30pm
This is the launch of the first public exhibition of the renowned Editorial portrait photographer, Andy Baker. (His series ‘Actress’ is shot mainly using lightweight 35mm cameras.) Andy works quickly whilst directing his subjects through a number of scenarios, drawing from a feeling or response to the energy outside of the frame and leaving the viewer to ponder on what comes next. Portraits will include Australian Stars Nicole Kidman and Abbie Cornish.

Catbird Gallery on Fri, Sat and Sun from 12pm – 4pm. Expect great wines, great music and great people. And on Sat at 2pm your are invited to Christine Pike’s exhibition opening.

The Closing Night screening of Bitter & Twisted in The James Theatre signals the Festival’s final day. The Closing Night Party, the culmination of the Dungog Film Festival, follows the Closing Night Film. Join filmmakers, locals and celebrate being an Aussie. You can count on food and wine and dancing.

  WYNDHAM ESTATE LOUNGE & GALLERY
Open from 7am for brekkie till late - Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Ever heard of the Groucho Marx Club or the Soho House? This lounge pays homage to these great English film dives. Set in a restored circa 1890s building, this will be the ultimate place to mingle, network and exchange stories by the fire. A gourmet kitchen is set up in the lounge for your culinary delight and all wines are complimentary.
